| Dear Professor Allen, I am writing to request an extension for the literature review due this Friday. I have been out with a bad cold for the past three days and have a doctor's note confirming my condition. Only yesterday was I finally able to get out of bed, and I started working diligently to finish the assignment. Fortunately, I was able to compile the list of sources before I got sick, but I will need additional time to finalize the analysis section. Would it be possible to submit the review by next Wednesday instead? I understand the importance of deadlines and will ensure the paper meets all formatting and citation requirements.
